Fleet Diploma Course Schedule

A 5-day modular D.S.A. accredited course for instructors wishing to move to advanced driver training or into the fleet training market.

Course available as 5 consecutive days or in individual days over 5 weeks. (the running order & content may be varied to suit course & delegate requirements & availability without notice)

 

Day 1. (classroom & in-car)

  • Introductory session focusing on the need for development and the causes of ‘crashes'.
  • Driving assessments to establish a personal development programme.
  • Introduction to driving theory and discussion of Roadcraft principles.

 

Day 2 (in-car)

  • Analysis of driving skills and Development of Practical Driving & Assessment & Coaching Skills

 

Day 3 (in-car)

  • Development of Practical Driving & Assessment & Coaching Skills

 

Day 4 (classroom & in-car)

  • Organisation, Presentation & Report Writing Managing Clients and Business Focus

 

Day 5 (classroom & in-car)

  • Final Assessments: - Theory, Presentation, Report Writing, Instructional Ability & Final Drive

 

Pre-Course Preparation

Students are advised to be familiar with the Police Roadcraft publication -The 'old' blue cover 6 feature system, and be able to drive and instruct to a high standard.

 

Additional Course Information

The Diploma is a practical, modular course that provides the unique opportunity for instructors to develop personal coaching and communication skills and the necessary teaching techniques for advanced level driver training. Personal driving skills will be assessed, developed and accredited.

 

 

Who is the course designed for?

Anyone wishing to work in Fleet & Advanced Driver training and be included in the DSA Fleet and Advanced register.

 

Course inspections

The course is subject to routine monitoring by the accrediting and awarding bodies.

 

Examinations and Awards

In the event of a delegate being unsuccessful at any of the examinations the individual examination may be postponed and re-taken at a latter date.

A successful delegate may also re-take any examination to increase any personal grade or level awarded. An additional fee may be charged for any postponed or retaken examination.

A high standard of performance will be required in each element.
